Pakistan May Miss Naseem Shah in the Second ODI Against Australia

Pakistan’s fast bowler, Naseem Shah, might miss the second One Day International (ODI) against Australia as his status remains unclear after he experienced muscle cramps in the first game.

During his 8th over in the first match, Naseem appeared to be in considerable pain, grabbing his left calf. The team’s physiotherapist quickly came to assist, but Naseem eventually left the field on his own. Mohammad Hasnain stepped in to complete the over. Australia went on to win that match by two wickets.

Reports indicate that Naseem is still feeling some discomfort, though he is slowly recovering. With several days remaining before the second ODI, there’s a possibility he may recover in time. The Pakistan team has left Adelaide, heading to their next game, which is scheduled for November 8.

If Naseem is fit to play, it would be a significant advantage for Pakistan, as he was one of their key players in the first match, making an impact both with the bat and the ball.

Coming in to bat at No. 9, Naseem played a crucial role by scoring a swift 40 runs off 39 balls, hitting four sixes and a four. This aggressive inning helped Pakistan recover from a troubling position at 148-7, pushing them past the 200-run mark and giving them a fighting chance.

With the ball, Naseem started Pakistan’s defense in the second over of Australia’s innings. Although he struggled in his first over, conceding 14 runs, he managed to take the wicket of Jake Fraser-McGurk in his second over, temporarily slowing Australia’s progress.

Naseem’s injury is a serious concern for Pakistan, especially considering their tight schedule. After completing this three-match ODI series, they are set to face Australia again in a three-match T20I series. Following this, they will travel to Zimbabwe for both ODI and T20I series.
