Danny Green, 37, one of only four players to win an NBA title with three different franchises, announced his retirement from the league on Thursday after a remarkable 15-season career. The American guard, known for his exceptional three-point shooting, hitting 40% from beyond the arc throughout his career, shared the news on social media.
“I knew this day would eventually come,” Green wrote. “Basketball has been my life, taking me around the world and connecting me with amazing people. It’s been an incredible journey.”
He added, “I’m excited for the next chapter and look forward to embracing new challenges.”
Green was part of the 2014 NBA champion San Antonio Spurs, the 2019 champion Toronto Raptors, and the 2020 champion Los Angeles Lakers. This achievement placed him alongside teammates LeBron James, Robert Horry, and John Salley as one of only four players to win titles with three different NBA teams.

He later joined the Raptors alongside Kawhi Leonard.
In 2019, Green signed with the Lakers and also had stints with the Philadelphia 76ers, Memphis Grizzlies, and the Cavaliers.
