Brentford’s manager, Thomas Frank, shared his disappointment after his team’s 2-1 defeat to Fulham. Despite Brentford leading 1-0 as the game approached the 90th minute, Fulham turned the match around, with Harry Wilson scoring twice in added time, handing the Cottagers a dramatic victory on Monday.
After the game, Frank admitted that his team didn’t perform at their best. He explained that, although it’s challenging to play flawlessly for all 38 games in the Premier League, they still need to push hard and show resilience, especially when they aren’t performing at their peak.
Frank highlighted that in the second half, Brentford spent much of the time defending and struggled to control the ball or create more offensive plays. Even though they defended well, it took a special effort from Fulham to break through. He emphasized that they showed determination by pressing forward in the hopes of securing a second goal to win the game. However, just as Brentford nearly scored, Fulham capitalized on their own opportunity, taking the lead and ultimately winning.
Reflecting on the defeat, Frank described the outcome as leaving him feeling “empty” after the hard-fought match slipped away at the very end.
